Our progress led us to formalise as a Private Limited Company in 2010. In 2005, we introduced oceanbridgemotors.com when technology was less advanced, and avenues for overseas buyers to connect with sellers of Japan used cars were limited.

We ensured refund policies for undelivered vehicles, matched buyers’ ordered vehicles, facilitated faster communication between buyers and sellers, and ensured the delivery of quality vehicles. Guide to Purchasing a Car from Japan in 5 Simple

Step 1: Choose Your Ideal Vehicle

Begin your journey by finding the perfect Japanese vehicle for your needs. Use our search function or explore our stock to discover your desired used car. Upon finding a vehicle of interest, review its details and accompanying photos. Utilize the quote function to obtain a comprehensive cost estimate for transporting the vehicle from Japan to your country. (Please note that online quotations may not be available for certain country/vehicle combinations.)

Step 2: Request an Invoice and Place Your Order

Once you’ve selected your preferred vehicle and reviewed the details, please go ahead and request an invoice from our team. This invoice will confirm availability and total cost, including shipping. If you’re satisfied with the quote, place your order by confirming your interest and preparing for payment. Our team will assist you throughout this process to ensure a smooth transaction.

Step 3: Complete the Payment

Finalise your payment using either a Bank Telegraphic Transfer or PayPal. After making the payment, provide us with a copy of the Telegraphic Transfer receipt as confirmation. Once we receive the payment, we’ll send you a confirmation email.

Step 4: Your Vehicle’s Journey Begins

Upon receipt of the full payment, we initiate the export arrangements for the earliest available vessel. You can track your shipment’s status by accessing your account page whenever you like. Within a few days of the vessel’s departure from Japan, we’ll send you or your agent the necessary documents via DHL courier.

Step 5: Take Delivery of Your Vehicle

After receiving the shipment documents, you can start arranging for the collection and registration of the vehicle in your country. If needed, a clearing agent can assist you with the necessary procedures and provide insight into the associated fees and taxes. Once the procedures are completed, you’re ready to hit the road in your new vehicle!
